SOPHiA GENETICS has successfully completed a $77 million funding round, the company recently announced at the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference in San Francisco.

Sustainable investing pioneer Generation Investment Management led the funding round. Other investors included Idinvest Partners, a European leader in private equity, Balderton Capital and Alychlo.

The latest round brings the company’s fundraising total up to $140 million, and will be used to help push SOPHiA’s AI-based platform into new hospital systems. The program is currently employed by more than 850 hospitals in 77 countries and has been used in the diagnosis of over 300,000 patients.
