This is the last video, in a three-part series of documentary shorts produced by Retro Report in partnership with STAT, investigating the roots of today’s most promising genetic technologies.

This video looks at how genetic testing has lived up to its promise: People can now learn about inherited disease-causing mutations by spitting in a tube.

Genetic testing has moved from the lab, out to the consumer itself — is that a good thing?
